An easy dish to prepare, sweet & sour pork is a family favorite. Serve over rice or noodles for a full meal. Cubed chicken, turkey or beef can be easily substituted for the pork for a tasty alternative.For an even easier meal, make with left-over pork chops or roast pork.

center cut pork chops boned |

| |
1-2 tbsp |
shorten (or vegetable oil) |

| |
1/4 - 1/2 cup |
water |
|
| |
1/4 cup |
brown sugar |
|
| |
2 tbsp |
corn starch |
|
| |
1 tsp |
salt |
|
| |
1/4 cup |
vinegar |
|
| |
1 cup |
pineapple juice |
|
| |
1 1/2 tbsp |
soy sauce |
|
| |
3/4 cup |
green pepper, chopped |
|
| |
1/4 cup |
onion, thinly sliced |
|
| |
1 cup |
pineapple chunks |

Instructions |

Cut uncooked pork chops into strips 2 inches by 1/2 inch wide.

Brown meat slightly in shortening (or oil); add water and vinegar. Cover adn simmer pork until cooked and tender.

Combine brown sugar, corn starch, salt, pineapple juice and soy sauce; cook until slightly thick, stirring contstantly.

Pour mixture over pork simmer on low for five minutes.

Add green pepper, onion and pineapple chunks; simmer another 2 or 3 minutes more.

|
Serve over fluffy white rice or noodles to complete the meal.
