Recipe Categories: Ground Beef Recipes   |   Meat Dishes
Yield: 8 steaks
Savory and delicious, a filling meal when served with mashed potatoes and a vegetable.

Ingredients
1   1-2 LBs lean ground beef
  1   2 eggs
  1   1 C Bread Crumbs
  1   1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  1   1 tsp Garlic powder
1   1 Tbsp Dried chopped onion
1   Salt and pepper to taste
  1   Gravy
1   2 pkgs Brown Gravy Mix
1   1 small onion, sliced thinly
  1   6 med mushrooms, sliced
  1   2 C Water

Instructions

  1. Mix together the meat, eggs, bread crumbs, Worcestershire and spices until well combined.

  2. Using about a handful of the mixture, shape it firmly into a ball and then smash down into a patty, firming the sides and making a uniform shape. Continue making patties until all the meat is used up.

  3. Cook them over medium heat, turning occassionally, until no longer pink in the middle.

  4. Remove the patties and set aside until all of the meat is cooked.

  5. Cook the sliced onions and mushrooms in the hamburger grease until the onions are soft and transparent.

  6. Empty the mix packets in a bowl, and slowly add in the two cups of water, stirring smooth until all the water is added.

  7. Add the gravy to the pan of onions and mushrooms, continuing to stir. Carefully add the patties to the pan, and simmer over a low heat until the gravy has thickened.

  8. Remove from heat and serve immediately.
