Chilled Romaine Tea Recipe

Yield: One 8 oz. Glass
A delicious alternate to iced tea
 
Ingredients
  1   1 head romaine lettuce  
  1   2 cups water  
  1   3 teaspoons sugar or stevia  
 
Instructions
 
  1. Chop off trunk end of romaine head

 
  2. Place lettuce and water in a blender

 
  3. Liquify - blending for at least 2 minutes

 
  4. Add sweetener of your choice and stir

 
  5. It is best ingested using a straw.

 
  6. The pulp can be filtered out with a fine mesh strainer before serving.

 
  7. The pulp can be re-used as a base for salsa, or you can dump it on your compost file.
