Baker's Square French Silk Pie

Ingredients
    9" prepared pie crust  
  1  sm Box instant choco pudding  
    -substitute buttermilk for  
    -milk  
  1   Env Knox gelatin  
  1/4  c Cold water  
  9  oz Container cool whip  
    Whipping cream, whipped  
    Chocolate shavings  
 
Instructions
 
  1. Prepare small box instant pudding, using buttermilk instead of milk; set aside. Prepare 1 envelope Knox gelatine with 1/4 cup cold water. Use glass measuring cup to mix gelatine. Set mixture in a pot or pan of hot water, while still in the cup, to help dissolve gelatine. Gelatine is dissolved when mixture is clear. Wire whisk gelatine into pudding and fold in the 9oz. cool whip. Pour into prepared crust; chill. Apply whipping cream on top before serving. Garnish with chocolate shavings.

Lesson Learned Today....READ REVIEWS ALWAYS. I was so excited about finding this recipe that I didn't bother to scroll down to the reviews. What a HUGE mistake.....I tasted one bite and threw 2 whole pies away. Don't waste your money on the buttermilk the reviews are right it tastes like you used SOUR MILK. :(

I agree with the last person. This pie tasted so sour and bad, I had to throw more than half away so as not to put other people through the torture of having to eat it.

This recipe was a BIG disappointment. It tasted sour (buttermilk taste) and had very little chocolate flavor.

The closest recipe I have found yet that tastes like the actual Bakers Square french silk pie is in an old Betty Crocker cookbook. The recipe has raw eggs in it which may scare some people but not me. I've been eating raw cookie dough for years!!!
