Recipe Categories: Beef Recipes
Yield: 8 Servings

Ingredients
  1   MARINADE:
  1   1 (12-oz.) can beer
1   1/2 cup spicy tomato juice
  1   8 sprigs fresh thyme
  1   8 sprigs fresh oregano
  1   3 garlic cloves, minced
  1   1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1   1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1   8 (6-oz) boneless beef New York strip steaks (3/4 inch thick)
  1   SEASONING:
  1   1 tablespoon mustard seeds
1   1 tablespoon coarse sea salt
1   1 teaspoon cracked black peppercorns (To crack whole peppercorns, place in a heavy-duty resealable plastic bag. Pound with flat side of meat mallet or heavy pan until coarsely chopped.)

Instructions

  1. In large resealable plastic bag, stir together all marinage ingredients except steaks. Add steaks, turn to coat both sides. Cover and refigerate 2 to 4 hours, turning occasionally.

  2. Heat grill. In small bowl, stir together all seasoning ingredients. Remove steaks from marinade; discard marinade. Sprinkle steaks with seasoning mix, pressing into steaks.

  3. Place steaks on gas grill over medium-high heat or on charcoal grill 4 to 6 inches from medium-high coals; cover grill. Grill 8 to 10 minutes for medium-rare or until desired doneness, turning once.
